Some people think I’m crazy, but I love the rain! I grew up in sunny SoCal, and spent my teen years and early adulthood in the desert. (There IS rain in the desert, but only a few times each year.) So I moved to Seattle in my mid-twenties. Much to my disappointment, it doesn’t really “rain” that much here — it’s more of a constant drizzle. But on those few drippy-droppy, pelting-the-windows rainy days, I like to cozy up inside with a good book, a cup of hot chocolate, and some nice background music. So here’s a list of my favorite songs to set the rainy-day mood. (I’ll admit that this list is more for my future benefit than yours.)
Thank You – Dido
Anthems For A Seventeen-Year Old Girl – Broken Social Scene
Be My Escape – Relient K
Swing, Swing – All-American Rejects
Little Lion Man – Mumford & Sons
Factory Girls – Flogging Molly
All That I’ve Got – The Used
That Girl – David Choi
Bubbly – Colbie Caillat
You and I – Park Bom
Onelove – Loveholic
It Had to Be You – Motion City Soundtrack
Can you guess my age from my musical tastes? What are some of your favorite rainy day tunes?
